Ziibi Anishinaabe Investments Inc. is Rainy River First Nations' business development corporation. In our language, Ziibi Anishinaabe means "River People," a term of respect among our neighbouring Nations.
Rainy River First Nations developed Ziibi Investments to create value and opportunities by building and acquiring enterprises that will generate strong financial performance and provide employment and training for community members, building leadership and management skills across diverse industries across all stages of a career.

Formed in September 2020, Ziibi Investments currently manages multiple companies across various industries, generating significant revenues for the benefit of the Nation.
We have a significant portfolio of operating businesses, joint ventures and infrastructure investments focussed on the mining, forestry, energy and construction industries.
We are based in Treaty 3 territory within the Rainy River District in Northwestern Ontario. We employ approximately 100 employees and contractors and are actively pursuing new industrial, commercial and retail opportunities as well as business acquisitions within the Northern Ontario and Manitoba markets/regions.
We are focused on the organic growth of our current businesses and investments while at the same time looking to grow the Ziibi Group of Companies by acquiring and managing profitable, well-established small to medium-sized enterprises generating strong/reliable and sustainable cash flows operating in established markets.
Ziibi Investments leverages the diverse industry experiences, extensive networks and operating skills of its Board and Management team to create positive economic impact and long-term value for the benefit of Rainy River First Nations and its community members, the companies we invest in, and the partners with whom we work.
Ziibi Investments operates under the guidance and direction of a Board of Directors and a Board of Trustees appointed by Rainy River First Nations' Chief and Council. Rainy River First Nations is the sole beneficiary of Ziibi Anishinaabe Investments Inc.

Will McGinnis is an elected member of Rainy River First Nations Chief and Council with extensive experience in economic development and community development with an emphasis on employment, training, and capacity development in the natural resource sector.
Will has held key community relations and business development roles in both public and private corporations across the Rainy River, Ontario region as well as within the Rainy River First Nations community.
Trevor Pilatzke, MBA, HBCOMM
Trevor Pilatzke is a Rainy River First Nations community member, a Trustee and member of the Board of Directors with Ziibi Anishinaabe Investments Inc., and is currently a Transportation and Operations Manager with Canada’s largest railway company.
Over the past fourteen years, Trevor has gained extensive railroad transportation, logistics, and management experience across Canada through various roles including Labourer, Conductor, Locomotive Engineer, Trainmaster, and Assistant Superintendent. Trevor has project management experience while overseeing nuclear power projects at the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station.
Tim Friesen, MBA
Tim Friesen is a senior business executive with a focus on business development, operational efficiencies, strategic planning and community development with extensive experience in the Mining and Metals, Regulatory, and Media, Marketing and Communications industries.
Tim has significant operational, strategic and financial experience holding senior positions with private corporations, government and with not-for-profit associations.
Mandeep Rai, CPA, CA, MBA
Mandeep Rai is a senior finance executive with significant experience across a wide range of industries and has held executive management positions in the Mining, Metals and Manufacturing industries in both Canada and the U.S.
Mandeep has extensive financial, operational, strategic management and Board governance experience working with both large public and private corporations as well as Indigenous, Government and Regulatory stakeholders and groups.
