Ziibi Anishinaabe Investments Inc. is Rainy River First Nations' business development corporation. In our language, Ziibi Anishinaabe means "River People," a term of respect among our neighbouring Nations.

About Us
Formed in September 2020, Ziibi Investments currently manages multiple companies across various industries, generating significant revenues for the benefit of the Nation.
We have a significant portfolio of operating businesses, joint ventures and infrastructure investments focussed on the mining, forestry, energy and construction industries.
We are based in Treaty 3 territory within the Rainy River District in Northwestern Ontario. We employ approximately 100 employees and contractors and are actively pursuing new industrial, commercial and retail opportunities as well as business acquisitions within the Northern Ontario and Manitoba markets/regions.

We are focused on the organic growth of our current businesses and investments while at the same time looking to grow the Ziibi Group of Companies by acquiring and managing profitable, well-established small to medium-sized enterprises generating strong/reliable and sustainable cash flows operating in established markets.
Ziibi Investments leverages the diverse industry experiences, extensive networks and operating skills of its Board and Management team to create positive economic impact and long-term value for the benefit of Rainy River First Nations and its community members, the companies we invest in, and the partners with whom we work.
Ziibi Investments operates under the guidance and direction of a Board of Directors and a Board of Trustees appointed by Rainy River First Nations' Chief and Council. Rainy River First Nations is the sole beneficiary of Ziibi Anishinaabe Investments Inc.

Pilatzke, MBA, HBCOMM
Trevor Pilatzke is a Rainy River First Nations member, a Manitou Business Management Trust Trustee, and a member of the Board of Directors with Ziibi Anishinaabe Investments Inc. He brings a wealth of unique experience to the team and is passionate to improve opportunities for RRFN members.
Trevor was appointed in September 2020, and has been actively engaged and committed to the success of Ziibi Investments.
He has 15 years experience in the Class 1 Railroad Industry, project management in the nuclear industry, has a passion for innovation, clean energy, and urban development.
Trevor has gained extensive transportation, logistics, innovation, and management experience across Canada through his various roles. He holds a BComm (Hons) in Marketing Management, an MBA both from Lakehead University, and is McGill University SCRUM and Agile Certified.

Tim Friesen, MBA
Tim Friesen is a senior business executive with a focus on business development, operational efficiencies, strategic planning and community development with extensive experience in the Mining and Metals, Regulatory, and Media, Marketing and Communications industries.

Tim has significant operational, strategic and financial experience holding senior positions with private corporations, government and with not-for-profit associations.
